Dr Victor Onifade
Victor Onifade is an urban and regional planning specialist with interests in housing and user’s satisfaction, urban management, Internally displaced persons and environmental management. His work focuses on meeting basic housing needs and the implications of homelessness in the urban environment. He holds a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. He is currently a Senior Lecturer of urban planning, and teaches courses relating to housing, national development planning and urban management. He is the Cluster Manager of Sustainable Cities and African Urbanization Dynamics, Pro-Poor Development Research cluster member at the University of Lagos, and has authored and co-authored 37 peer-reviewed National and International articles and supervised 12 graduate level theses. He has won the University of Lagos Central Research Grant award in 2016 and a Post-doctoral Researcher, Informal Appropriation of public space and urban infrastructure for Leisure Physical Activity in Lagos and Yaoundé (ALPhA) - Funded by British Academy – Infrastructures of Wellbeing program 2020-2021 He is a registered town planner and a member of Nigerian Institute of Town Planners.
